Is there a free plan?
Yes — the Free plan gives you 50 screenshots a month, no credit card required. It's the easiest way to try SnapCrest before deciding whether Freelancer is right for you.
How do I take my first screenshot?
Sign up for free, paste any public URL into the capture box, choose your options, and hit Capture. Your screenshot is ready to download in a few seconds.
How do I upgrade to Freelancer?
Open the Billing section of your dashboard and choose Freelancer; you'll be taken to a secure Dodo Payments checkout, and your new limits apply as soon as payment clears.
Features & Capabilities
Do my screenshots contain a watermark?
Free captures include a small SnapCrest watermark. Freelancer captures are completely clean and watermark-free.
What's the difference between Free and Freelancer?
Free gives you 50 PNG screenshots a month — full-page or viewport — with a SnapCrest watermark and 7-day history. Freelancer ($9/month, or $84/year) gives you 500 screenshots a month, every format (PNG, WebP, JPEG, PDF), watermark-free captures, and 30-day history.
What file formats can I export?
Freelancer exports PNG, WebP, JPEG, and PDF; the Free plan exports PNG only. Captures are rendered with a real Chromium browser for high-resolution output.
What's the difference between viewport and full-page capture?
A viewport capture grabs just the visible area at the top of the page. A full-page capture scrolls the whole page into one tall image — handy for long landing pages, articles, or dashboards. Both modes are available on every plan.
Billing & Payments
How does billing work?
We use Dodo Payments to handle all subscription payments, taxes, and invoices. When you upgrade or manage your plan, you're taken to a secure Dodo Payments checkout.
Can I cancel or change my plan anytime?
Yes. Open the Billing section, click Manage Subscription, and cancel anytime through the Dodo Payments portal. No contracts, minimum commitments, or cancellation fees.
What happens if I hit my monthly limit?
When you reach your limit (50 on Free, 500 on Freelancer), captures pause until your next billing cycle. We never charge overage fees or surprise costs. On Free, you can upgrade to Freelancer anytime for more capacity.
Technical
Can you capture sites behind Cloudflare or bot protection?
We capture most sites using a real Chromium browser, but some with aggressive bot protection (certain Cloudflare or DataDome challenges) can block automated captures. When that happens we show a clear error — and a blocked attempt is never counted against your limit.
Can you capture pages that require a login?
No — SnapCrest captures publicly accessible URLs. Pages behind a login or paywall aren't supported.
Why did my capture come back blank or incomplete?
Usually a page that loads slowly or pulls in content late. We wait for the page to settle before capturing, but a few sites don't fully render. Try again, and email [email protected] if it persists. Failed captures aren't counted against your limit.
Data & Privacy
Where are my screenshots stored, and who can see them?
Your captures are stored securely and are private to your account. No one else can browse or access them.
Do you own or reuse my screenshots?
No. Your captures are yours; we don't sell, share, or reuse your data. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
How long are captures kept, and can I delete them?
Captures are retained for 7 days on Free and 30 days on Freelancer. You can delete any capture from your dashboard at any time.
Are you GDPR and CCPA compliant?
We follow GDPR and CCPA principles, and payment data is handled by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how to request access or deletion.
Troubleshooting
I didn't get my verification email.
Check your spam folder first and give it a couple of minutes. You can request a new link from the sign-in screen, or email [email protected] if it still doesn't arrive.
How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot password" on the login page and we'll email you a reset link.
My payment didn't go through.
Payments are processed by Dodo. Double-check your card details and try again; if it still fails, email [email protected] and we'll help.
